Innolume

Innolume is a comprehensive supplier of photonic devices utilizing InGaAs/GaAs quantum well and quantum dot technologies, covering wavelengths from 780 nm to 1350 nm.

Innolume specializes in the development of custom photonic devices tailored to specific customer requirements. We have the capability to carry out medium-volume production of these devices in-house and seamlessly transfer production to contract manufacturing for high-volume fabrication, ensuring scalability and quality consistency throughout the entire process. Since 2003, Innolume has been the first team to successfully bring QD semiconductor devices to the commercial market. To achieve this milestone, we also developed leading QW laser technology, solidifying our position at the forefront of photonics innovation.

Innolume's two production-scale MBE reactors support the epitaxial growth of In, Al, Ga, AsP/GaAs heterostructures, providing the flexibility and sustainability required for both development and volume production. Conventional InGaAs QW structures cover the standard wavelength range of 780–1120 nm, while our proprietary InAs QD technology extends the reachable range of GaAs technology to 1350 nm.

Innolume's capabilities in wafer processing include all steps of front-end manufacturing, including electron beam lithography and modern control techniques, to produce high-quality laser chips. A proprietary surface passivation technique applied to the cleaved facets ensures excellent lifetime performance across our entire high-power product family. Fine-controlled deposition of optical layers enables extremely deep anti-reflection coatings (<0.01% reflectivity), which are critical for the low-noise performance of our gain chips for external cavities and for the low spectral ripple in our SOA and SLD products.
