Sheaumann Laser, Inc. is a privately held, vertically integrated U.S. manufacturer of high-performance semiconductor laser diodes and custom modules. Headquartered in Billerica, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 2005 by Jim Hsieh, a pioneer in the packaged semiconductor industry and co-owner of Lasertron. A key milestone in its growth was the 2015 merger with Axcel Photonics, which added in-house epitaxial growth (MOCVD) and wafer processing capabilities to its existing design and packaging expertise, making it one of the few fully vertically integrated laser manufacturers in the country.

The company's core strength lies in its extensive in-house foundry, including an 18,000 square foot cleanroom that houses all activities from wafer growth to final test and reliability. This allows Sheaumann to offer solutions across a broad wavelength range from 780 nm to 1710 nm, providing both Fabry-Pérot and single-mode laser diodes. Its products, available in a variety of packages (such as TO-cans, butterfly modules, and submounts), deliver continuous wave (CW) output power up to 500mW for single-mode and up to 30W for multimode versions.

These lasers serve demanding applications across a wide range of markets, including space, military, medical, industrial, and environmental sectors, for uses such as sensing, imaging, and illumination. The company prides itself on its ability to scale from low-quantity prototyping to large-scale production while maintaining high quality standards and tight wavelength tolerances.
